A standard railing installation takes one day for the physical build. Projects that include staining and finishing take 4 to 6 days in total, including drying time between coats. Your detailed proposal will always include a clear project schedule.
Yes. As Bona Certified Craftsmen, we exclusively use Green Guard-certified, water-based, low-VOC finishes. There are no harsh fumes, no need to leave your home, and no lingering odors. Your family stays comfortable throughout the entire process.
We recommend cleaning with Bona-brand mops and products, which are formulated to work with the finishes we use. We walk every client through proper care before we wrap up, and we’re always just a call away if questions come up later.
Our crew cleans up every afternoon between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Your stairs and living areas stay safely accessible and splinter-free each night, so your family’s routine isn’t disrupted. We keep your home livable throughout the entire build.

Yes, for a $150 fee. Our photorealistic renderings give you a precise preview of the final design before installation begins. It’s especially helpful for custom or complex builds where visualizing the result ahead of time makes a real difference.
Once your proposal is approved, expect a 3 to 4 week lead time before construction begins. If you’re working toward a specific date, let us know upfront, and we’ll do our best to plan around it.
Yes. Projects requiring specialty woods or custom materials, like floating staircases, extend the lead time to 5 to 6 weeks. We’re always transparent about timelines from the first conversation, so there are no surprises along the way.
We back every project with a comprehensive 5-year warranty, provided we handle the full four-step process: materials, installation, staining, and touch-ups. The warranty covers craftsmanship but doesn’t cover mishandling, such as dropping heavy objects on the steps.
Most squeaking comes from movement within the subfloor, and new flooring or refinishing won’t resolve it. The only permanent fix is to tear out the floor and repair the subfloor directly. We’ll assess your situation during the home visit and tell you our honest recommendation.
